De-Gloved Leg

De-gloved leg injury on horse that was treated by veterinarian for over 2 months. Granulation Tissue aka proud flesh, is excessive. The mare ran her leg thru a wire fence and had the skin on her leg de-gloved all the way to the bone. After two months of applying¬†corticosteroid ointment, under direction of the owner’s veterinarian, the injury had not contracted. Tissue granulation, a.k.a. proud flesh, was excessive. The first photo shows the condition when the owner started using the salve. Salve was painted on area with included brush, and wrapped. The bandage was changed every 2-3 days. Awaiting final photo from owner.
